The North East Regional Minister, Hon. Yidana Zakaria, has expressed the region’s appreciation to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) for its contribution to the development of the region.
Hosting a team from the Corporation today at the Regional Coordinating Council Office, the Minister described the role of the National Oil Company as critical to the growth agenda of many communities and regions of which the North East Region is a part.
Dominic Eduah (PhD), Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation and leader of the delegation rehashed GNPC’s CSR position as one targeted at improving lives and, in turn, expressed the satisfaction of the Corporations CEO and Board for the collaborative support it receives across communities.
GNPC’s presence in the North East is felt by its investments in the construction of about 40 boreholes, 12-Unit sanitary facilities each in Lambesi and Sakogu, 6-Unit classroom blocks each in Yunyoo and Bowku.
Others are the 160-bed Dormitory and 24-Unit Sanitary facility at Walewale Senior High School, and the current construction of the new Walewale Hospital all funded by GNPC.
